Browsing this website
The website code does not set advertising cookies or load third-party analytics services. Scripts, styles and most images are served with the website. The Films Reference section loads video preview images from YouTube’s image service (i.ytimg.com), which receives your IP address and normal request information when those images load. Project pages include YouTube privacy-enhanced video players. A player can connect to youtube-nocookie.com as it approaches the visible part of the page, before you press Play. Loading or playing a video connects to YouTube services, which receive request information such as your IP address and process the information needed to deliver the player and video.
The hosting service may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP addresses and request logs.
Contacting Omid
The enquiry form sends your name, email address, subject and message through Supabase and the email delivery provider Resend to Omid’s mailbox. Your details are used to respond to your enquiry. Short-lived, hashed network identifiers are used to limit spam; message content is not stored in the website database. Email providers may retain delivery records and messages according to their policies.
Article readership
Article opens are counted from 23 October 2026, at most once per network and browser per article per day. A hashed network and browser identifier is used to limit repeated counts, without advertising cookies. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the readership tables. Deduplication records are removed after 30 days; aggregate totals remain. Counts are approximate and are not a count of identified people.
Comments and reader ratings
If you leave a comment, your chosen name and message are stored in Supabase. Comments are reviewed before publication; approved names and messages are public. Do not include private information in a comment. Reader ratings are stored per article with a hashed network and browser identifier to limit repeated voting. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the feedback tables. Contact hello@omidromal.com to request removal of a comment.
Editorial AI
Only authorised editors can use the Claude writing assistant. When an editor requests a suggestion, their brief and article text are sent to Anthropic. Suggestions are reviewed by the editor before publication. The API credential is stored encrypted on the server; it is never returned to the browser. Rate-limit records for AI requests are kept for up to seven days.
External websites
Film records, viewing platforms and press links open external websites. Those services have their own privacy practices.
